Rat and mouse removal
Poison-Free Rat and Mouse Removal
We remove the rodents already in your home with traps, not poison, so nothing dies inside your walls and nothing ends up in a pet or a hawk.
Why we don’t use poison
Poison is the fastest way to make a rat problem worse in a house. A rodent that eats bait doesn’t die on the spot. It often crawls back into a wall, attic or crawl space first, which is where the smell comes from a few days later. The bait also moves up the food chain: pets, owls and hawks that eat a poisoned rodent can be poisoned too, which is why California now restricts the strongest anticoagulant rat poisons.
Trapping takes more work to set up and is a lot more certain. We place traps where the inspection shows activity, check them, remove what they catch and reset them. You know what was caught, and nothing is left to rot out of reach.
Trapping works best once the house is sealed. Trap a house with open entry points and new rodents replace the old ones. That’s why our trapping runs as a cycle after exclusion, not instead of it.
FAQ
Rat & Mouse Trapping questions
How long does it take to get rid of rats?
Our standard trapping cycle runs six weeks after the entry points are sealed. Sealing first means the cycle is catching the rodents that were already inside, not an endless supply of new ones.
Are traps a problem with kids and pets in the house?
Traps go in crawl spaces, attics, wall voids and garages, where activity is, and we never use poison. Tell us about children and pets when we inspect so trap placement accounts for them.
Do you handle mice too?
Yes. Mice use smaller gaps than rats, about the size of a dime, so the sealing work is more detailed, but the approach is the same: seal the house, then trap what is inside.
